Beaversarus and a Beacon

Fun story of the week (and before anyone asks, no I don't really know how we started on this conversation): Some how we got on the topic of splicing animals together. My coworkers and I, for some unknown reason, were real interested in beavers because that was consistent across the board. I was not part of this fun moment until I walked over to show them the new Jurassic World dinos. You can imagine what unfolded next.

"OH! What about a BEAVERSARUS!?"
*insert baby raptor noise combined with a weird whistling noise*

You should know it went down from there whether it was the lack of sleep (I went to the Red Wings playoff game) or the amount of espresso and caffeine they had. I think we manage to create a Beavercuda, Beavodile, Beaverpiller, Beaverfly, and my personal favorite so far: Beaverpus or the plural Beaverpi. We realized we have all these new creatures, but they didn't have a home granted I am pretty sure it will be a place like Australia to make it work. Anyhow, cue renaming some of the planets which we still didn't settle on one. We came close with Bevenus. You have to give us some credit for being so creative especially for this mostly occurring on a Friday.

I hope that gave you some chuckles to either end your week with a good note or start your week off with a smile. I think that is so important to just have a moment of laughter to break you out of the grind of work and reality that sometimes takes the smiles from us. We forget to just take a step back and enjoy the simple things of life or the randomness of life.
Like last night for me.
One of my best friends, Morgan, had this guy walk into her work buying shoes for his show the next evening. Now Mo is 10 times more outgoing then me and, as she states, nosy. She asked what show he was talking about. Come to find out he is a Christian Rapper known as Beacon Light. He gave her VIP tickets for her and a guest to come to his show. Mo graciously invited me to come along with her. It was soooo much fun. We were able to take a random adventure out to listen and learn more about the organization he is a part of too. So, we were introduced to the Oxen and what it means to become a part of this movement. Ok, that may not be the best word since it isn't just a movement that will die out; it's a way of life, a way to train new followers, and breathe encouragement into their lives as well. Needless to say we both bought some new T-shirts, and I may or may not have bought his CD. It was a wonderful night of music, friendship, and deep conversations of encouragement. Spontaneous was the word of the day yesterday :D. I have been so thankful to not be pinching my pennies as much as I used to (I am still very conscious of what I am spending since I have loans to pay). I am so thankful for It Works providing me with the extra income to help pay for gas and give me some extra spending money as well. Not only that, but for the chance to get to know Morgan better and having her plug more Godly encouragement into my life.

I just want to encourage all of you to embrace the random and don't let reality steal your joy. Find the little things and hold on to the good memories. Take those road trips even if they lead to nowhere because it will be the moments you remember forever. Don't get lost in the grind of work or stress of life. I can attest to how short life really is and how time wait for no one. Why not live for the moments that take our breathe away rather than the next paycheck?

The Melt is On

In case you've been living under a rock or still in that winter stupor, we have finally made it to spring. The snow has finally melted away and we being to hope it is gone for a couple months. If you live in Michigan, you know how exciting it is to see the snow finally given us a break. We all are now sitting anxiously awaiting for the weather to do the same and give us some warmer temps.
The slight rise in temps and the disappearance of that devilish, disgusting, and depressing white fluffy stuff means we can now embrace the sun and get off the sofa we have imprinted with a mold of our butts all winter.
Don't even begin the thought: "That wasn't me." We all had a long winter where we gave up on exercise and hibernated in the warmth of blankets and warm houses. Now it is time to shake off the sleep and make the choice to stick to our New year's resolutions of being healthy or just committee to another year of being lazy. I say let's give it a try to get off the sofa and greet the outdoors. I am definitely thanks to the motivation of ItWorks going to go back exercising this spring as soon as my ankle has become a little stronger.

Wondering how to make it till you've got the motivation to get up and run or bike or enter a gym? Well here is what I have been using till I work up that motivation I am currently lacking.

I have been using a couple of products since I have been recovering from an ankle sprain which means little movement and not much twisting aloud right away. I am so thankful for Greens on the Go to give me all those fruits and veggies that I need in a day as well as all those super-foods to give me energy to get me through the day and keep me healthy. I also get the added bonus of not being completely sluggish after waking from this long arctic sleep. It is my cup of coffee in the morning which is great for me since I am not a coffee drinker either. I also (hoping to not jinx myself here) haven managed to keep from getting sick by using Greens. I have also utilized using Fat Fighters when eating a super fatty or high carb meal to keep me at a steady weight instead of losing what I've accomplished before the sprain (as you can tell, I am a little upset with this inconvenient injury). I can say that I haven't gained any weight while I have been laid up trying not to go insane from boredom.
It Works not only motivated me to start making healthier choices in my life, but I am a lot happier on a whole as well which is an improvement over the last year I have had. And it is keeping me on track till I can get back to my running and biking regimen again.

So what is it going to take for you?
Will it be just needing that little extra motivation?
Maybe you need something to get you to that motivation?
Feeling good about yourself instead of *insert bad thought* (this was my reason)?

The snow is gone. Are you ready to shake off the sleep?

Take the risk and ask me how you can get some motivation and maybe like me start making choices you want to make without regretting them.

Blessings all,

Smelling like Citrus or Fighting an Itchy Desert

Hopefully the title didn't scare you away; I hope you actually laughed causing your day to be a little brighter (if you're in Michigan, on this rainy Wednesday).

So over the past month I have been trying out the Cleanser and Toner from It Works. They work best, I have found, when used together. That doesn't mean that it what you MUST do. Also, I wouldn't recommend getting these are your first auto-shipment as a loyal customer. Since it has been just over a month and I still have plenty of both of them (I used it every night and every other morning). That is the world's worst sales person pitch right there aha. But really, I would go with something else as your monthly shipment then add these to one of the months. :)

I have used so many different types of face washes I have begun to lose track of them all. I have found that my face starts to get used to them and they stop being effective. Now I had been using one that worked pretty decently and my face didn't seem to be adjusting to it, but at the same time it wasn't clearing up my acne either. Hence, I thought I would give this cleanser a chance to see if it would do any better.
The cleanser states that it will remove all the dirt, oil, and make-up from your face without leaving it dried out. I don't wear make-up, so I can't honestly say if it will be able to completely take if off.
It does manage to clean my face and leave it smelling of citrus which I find a pleasant way to head off to sleep at night. I have started washing my face in the morning as well since it isn't drying my face out. Which yes awesome my face isn't dry, but it now is a little more oily than I am used to it being. Granted my face has always been more oily than most peoples, so it is either dry or oily. Neither of those options make for excellent skin; they do however make it a fantastic arena for acne to occur. I know, I am so overly lucky. For me personally, I will take having to wash my face in the morning and at night to combat the oil versus having dry skin.

The toner helps to refresh, restore, and rebalance your skin to its natural pH level. This natural botanically based toner helps to minimize the appearance of your pores as well as improving your skin toner and texture. It's just a spray that you spritz over your face once you are done washing it. Careful to not over spray your face or spray yourself in the eye (or rub it into your eyes that hurts just as bad). I will admit that I use a medicine lotion from a different company before I used the toner on my face. Why you ask? Well...
It is worth mentioning that this combo of the cleanser and toner will make your face worse before it gets better. I didn't expect that to happen going into this challenge and had the wonderful surprise of my face breaking out like never before during the process. Granted they were small zits which, after taking a moment to calm down, I realized was most likely because the toner's job was to shirk my pores. So shrinking of my pores with the added dirt removal of the cleanser is probably what caused the massive outbreak on my face. And like I mentioned, I used a medicine lotion to help to control the breakout as it occurred. I haven't had another huge breakout like that since the first time it occurred.

Overall, I still think this is a good cleanser. I haven't really finished my trial period yet but so far I like that my face isn't drier than a desert and itchy. I also can definitely say that my pores are smaller than they used to be (yes I monitored them; I am a skeptic about new products). So, if you want to overcome dry skin after washing your face and the "it is going to get worse before it gets better" doesn't scare you away, ask me how to get your face back. Let me help you get your confidence back. I know I am finally starting to get comfortable again with my face.

It's Not Always Easy

I had my first Wrap Party last night. Let me tell all of you that think it was super easy, you would be wrong. It was the hardest thing of my life. But then again this is a job, so it isn't going to be smooth sailing everyday. I will however say that I am glad to have such supportive up-lines and fellow distributors that are extremely encouraging.

So, let me just share my night with you:

I was super nervous the day leading up to it. I had went over all the information probably a hundred times because I wanted to make sure I did a really good job. My wonderful friend and enroller graciously gave me some of her stuff, so it would feel like I had done this a thousand times. I was also super excited too. I set up the night before just so I wouldn't be rushing to get it all done after work. I did a pretty bang up job if I can say that. I like organization maybe just a little too much. I even made snacks because what is a party without yummy snacks!
Party time rolls around and it turns out two of my friends come. It was a little bit of a bummer because it made me feel like I am not doing a great job, but I was glad that it was friends. This gave me the opportunity to practice and still talk about my passion for this company. Plus two is better than zero.
Unfortunately, I let my nerves get the better of me. I fumbled my way through the entire party. It was not one of my finer moments. I think I was more frustrated with myself that I kept stuttering and rushing. I couldn't find the word that I wanted to say. You would think that it would have been a breeze since it was my friends. Apparently, I would have been better off with a room full of strangers since I probably wouldn't have seen them again haha. I will say that I am very grateful to my friends for them coming out to support me. It meant a lot to me.
We are our own worst critics are we not? I am definitely hard on myself, and this is no difference.
I think it is because I watch the rest of my team doing so awesome and I haven't been able to do anything as stellar as they have that makes it worse for me. I am probably not as doing as horrible as it feels.

As you can see it is not as easy as it seems.
It was a rough night for me, but here is why I love this company so much:
I have my friend (who is my enroller and up-line) text me later that night to ask me how my party went. I was honest about how I was feeling, and she instantly just encouraged me and kept me thinking positive. Then today I had a fellow distributor who had been unable to come to my party, text me to see how it went as well. She also responded with a ton of encouragement. I love being a part of something were we are all looking out for each other. Where we are here for each other to help out whenever needed. I love being part of this company because of that reason. I love the friends that I am making through this company as well as sharing healthy lifestyle options with people. I just need to become a little more out going.

Laugh at me (no worries, I can take it), ask me about It Works, or join me on this crazy adventure.

Blessings,
Ali
